The Ewa (soft "e" with the "w" pronounced as if it were a "v") Plain is located in the southwestern section of Oahu. It is the growth area of the state in long-range land use plan. Ewa consists of the following major residential areas; Kapolei, Ko Olina, Leeward Estates, Ocean Point and Westlloch Fairways. In addition to these, there are several smaller neighborhoods.
The major attractions these residential areas have are relatively new homes, competitively priced along with some new construction. Years ago these neighborhoods were pineapple and sugar cane fields; now they have sprouted new homes and shopping centers. The Ko Olina area offers beaches along with a golf course. Kapolei has a 25-acre water theme park, the only one of its kind in Hawaii. There are both single-family houses and townhouse complexes but no high-rise condominiums other than time-share units at Ko Olina. The disadvantage these homes have is commuting inconvenience, particularly to downtown Honolulu.
If you're searching for properties, select Home Search from the top of the page. Then, select Conduct Your Own Search and click on the Ewa Plain area of the map. Each area is broken down into a number of neighborhoods. If you're not familiar with the neighborhoods, it may be better to leave them all blank so you search for all the available homes in Ewa.
